Life and Style: Layers

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

It's Wednesday! Only two more days till the weekend, and I could not be more excited for all the fun things we have planned! But today, Christina and I are sharing our favorite layered looks for this week's Life and Style Linkup.

I'll be totally honest with you guys, this week has been so completely crazy that I had to use a stock photo-shoot for this week's theme. The day we had planned on shooting this week's style post turned out to be pouring down rain. Then so did the next day, and the next, and the next lol.

So today I decided to share this amazing layering sweater I wore a few weeks ago. I brought it with me to North Carolina for Thanksgiving and my stylish sister tried to swipe it! That's when you know you have a winner ;) It's so cozy, I love wearing it around the house on chilly days, but it's so cute to wear out as well!

I could live in leggings, and big cozy sweaters are a great way to get away with it. Add in a cute necklace and some boots (like these stylish ones from Belle Boutique) and you are set to go!

Life and Style Linkup: Scarves

Wednesday, December 10, 2014

Is it Wednesday again already?! This month is flying by so fast! Today's linkup with Christina from PoshPair we are featuring a winter favorite- Scarves! As soon as infinity scarves hit the style scene, I was hooked. They're incredibly easy to throw on, and give you instant warmth and coziness.

For today's look, I decided to put together a typical airport ensemble. With Christmas fast approaching, I'm sure a lot of you girls will be jet-setting off to family, so here are a few ideas for what to wear!

Number one on the list is to dress in something that will be comfortable walking though the airport as well as sitting on the plane. For me, that means my coziest pair of leggings. These Beyond Yoga leggings are hands down the best pair I've ever owned. The fabric quality is great. It's supportive while still providing enough stretch to be comfortable. They also only manufacture in the USA, so you'll be supporting the economy! ;)

A slouchy sweater is a must, and of course a bright scarf like this one from World Market. You can use your scarf as a make-shift pillow for napping, an extra layer around your shoulders if it's extra chilly, or a cover for your face if it's too bright to sleep.

I like to keep my makeup super simple with a light foundation, my favorite mascara, and a clear or nude lipgloss. This way if you do end up sleeping on the flight, you won't wake up with any embarrassing smudges or smeared makeup. I'll usually pull my hair back into a side bun so it's out of the way, and if nothing else bring a hair-tie in case it gets toasty rushing through the airport.

Life and Style Linkup: Outerwear

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

Hello, hello! Another fun linkup this week with Christina of Posh Pair today. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends! We flew cross country to North Carolina for a long, relaxing weekend.

We had our fair share of Black Friday shopping, and I snagged this super cute fur-hooded vest from GAP. I was surprised how many stores didn't do a big sale, but GAP had 50% off their whole store! Yes please!

Coming back to LA, we were greeted with some desperately needed rainfall. The perfect opportunity for homemade soup, warm cozy blankets, and preparing to put up all our Christmas decor! I can't wait to have a craft day with my ladies, and hopefully share a few of our projects with you soon!

Life and Style LInkup: Boho and Western

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

It's been a long time since we've had accidental matching outfits on Life and Style Linkup, but this week we broke the streak! Once again, the always stylish Christina of Posh Pair and I have styled similar looks for this week's theme of Boho & Western. Both rocking a light wash denim jacket and brown boots, you would think this week's theme is twins!

As a somewhat new braid-enthusiast, I couldn't pass up the chance to mess around with a new boho braided hairstyle. For this look, I did several messy braids and then twisted them all together for a deceptively complicated look. Total time to master this style? Ten minutes. Yep! The perfect 'I'm-late-to-work-but-I-already-wore-my-hair-in-a-bun-this-whole-week' solution. :)

This flowy top is one of my absolute favorites, and is the second part of my boho inspired look. The studs and unique cut-out detailing make it one-of-a-kind. I wish I would have taken a few pictures with the jacket off, so you could see more of the design!

Life and Style Linkup: Hats

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Happy Wednesday!! Today's Linkup with the gorgeous Christina of Posh Pair is all about hats! For this week's post, I chose to wear my tried and true favorite hat from Target. Styled with a new pair of shoes and a few basics, it's the perfect way to add.

I never used to wear hats because I didn't think I could pull them off. Then one of my best friends (who bears a striking resemblance to Sarah Jessica Parker by the way) told me her secret to wearing hats. Are you ready for this? She said the secret to looking great in hats, is to start wearing hats! Haha it's so true! Confidence is everything, and that always stuck with me :)

I just bought two new winter hats this week, so those should be coming up on the blog soon as well! Are you guys into hats this year? Where did you get some of your favorites?! I'm always looking for new places to shop!

Life and Style Linkup: Heels

Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Hello, hello! I hope you are all having a fabulous Wednesday! I had a few glitches while uploading today's post, but luckily it's finally all sorted out! Better late than never, right? Today's linkup with the beautiful Posh Pair ladies is all about those heels! Show us your favorite pair of the season, and you could be featured the following week!

Like most girls, I have way more shoes than I have space in my closet for. However... that never stops me from buying new ones each season! Although I will say that I've become much better at buying less quantity, and more quality when it comes to shoes. After an 8 hour day, you really start to appreciate the comfort of designer shoes! For this week's linkup I decided to rock a pair of my favorites to wear this fall, these amazing peek-toe heels from Via Spiga! I love that they are so unique, and of course that I got them at a crazy good deal at Nordstrom Rack.

Post Ranch Inn: Big Sur

Monday, November 10, 2014

For our two year anniversary, Chris and I decided to head up north to Big Sur for a weekend of cabin living. Driving up the California coast was hands-down the prettiest road-trip I've ever been on.

Today I wanted to tell you all about our last stop of the trip. On our way back to reality, we thought we'd indulge in one last vacation meal. And what better place to do that then at the Post Ranch Inn?! High on the mountainside, you are literally parallel with the cloud line surrounded by breathtaking views of the ocean on every side.

Thank you all for your comments and encouraging words!!
Your support means the world to me, I love hearing from you!
